| man .. this book is so deep.
i like how it shows things from such a different perspective. instead of from our perspective, as humans & christians, this book does the complete opposite. but yea. spiritual warfare is so real. "It is during the trough periods, much more than during the peak periods, that it is growing into the sort of creature He wants it to be. Hence the prayers offered in the state of dryness are those which please Him best. ...He wants them to learn to walk and must therefore take away His hand; and if only the will to walk is really there He is pleased even with their stumbles." God gives us free will, so it's our decision whether we want to live for Him or not. He refuses to carry us to any of the goals He sets before us, but leaves us to 'do it on our own.' And there lies the devil's opportunity to tempt us. But there also lies his danger. Because once we get over the initial dryness successfully, we become much harder to tempt because we become much less dependent on our emotions. powerful, huh? | | |
